First Day Hike

Start your year outdoors at Mayo River State Park.  Come out for a bushwack hike from the new Anglin Mill Access north along the Mayo River to the waterfall at Deshazo Mill Access, exploring the flora and fauna along the way.  Most of this hike is easy, however participants may have to push their way through brush and maneuver over uneven rocks while crossing Fall Creek.  Meet at the Anglin Mill Access located on Old Anglin Loop Road, Stoneville, NC (36.5397N, -79.9895W) at 11am for this program. Please wear sturdy shoes, and bring your own drinking water.  Dress appropriately for winter weather.  There are picnic tables available at the Deshazo Mill Access, however there are no restroom facilities at either the Anglin Mill or Deshazo Mill Access.
