Events and Programs

Lake Waccamaw State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

Come on out and stretch your legs on the first day of our new year.  Join park staff for an easy two miles (approx) hike through our sand ridge ecosystem and learn about some of our possible plans for the area.  Participants can expect a fairly dry terrain and some interpretation of the flora in the area.  With any luck, we may get a view of a carnivorous plant or two!  Participants will meet at the Visitor Center.
