Friends of Lake Norman State Park Alder Trail Hike

Join a ranger for a one hour guided nature hike through the upland forests of Lake Norman State Park.  During this walk on the Alder Trail sponsored by the Friends of Lake Norman State Park, participants will look for and discuss the wildflowers that are starting to bloom and the animals that are active during the early spring in the Piedmont of North Carolina.  Bring water to stay hydrated and wear sturdy shoes.  Participants will meet at the Visitor Center at 759 State Park Road, Troutman, NC 28166 at 9:00 a.m.  At 10:30 a.m., following the hike, the Friends of Lake Norman State Park will be holding their annual meeting in the Visitor Center auditorium.  This meeting is open to all persons interested in supporting the park and its conservation and environmental education efforts.  For more information on these programs, please call the park office 704-528-6350.

Hike Length and Difficulty: 
1 mile, moderately strenuous due to steps and changes in elevation.
