Current Status of Park Facilities   

The Visitor Center is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and  Saturday, Sunday & holidays 9am-6pm

The Visitor Center, restrooms, Lake Shore trail, and most reservable facilities are currently open. 
Bike trails are open weather permitting.

Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines throughout the park, regardless of the behavior of others.

  • 24-hour access to campground and boat launch is available through the entrance on St. Johns Road.

  • From the intersection of Old Mountain Road and East Monbo Road in the Troutman area, travel south approximately 4.3 miles on East Monbo Road to St. Johns Road. Turn left onto St. Johns Road and go 0.5. mile to State Park Road. Follow the signs for the campgrounds.

  • Canoes, pedal boats, kayaks, and paddleboards are available for rent daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The boats are rented on a first-come, first-served basis and we are not able to reserve them.

Area information

Lake Norman State Park is located in Iredell County, 10 miles south of Statesville and 32 miles north of Charlotte. Reach the park from I-77 by taking exit 42 onto US 21 north. Travel north on US 21 to Troutman, then turn left on to Wagner Street. Turn right on State Park Road, which ends in the state park.
