Nighttime Spider Stroll

2017 is the year of the spider. Come out to Lake James and celebrate our eight-legged park residents and discover the species that live in the park by exploring their habitats at night. Looking for spiders can be a fantastic adventure, but using flashlights to search for eye-shine can bring the adventure to a whole new level. These interesting critters can be found throughout the park, so bring your walking shoes and an open mind as we stroll into the woods in search of these amazing predators. Meet Ranger Kevin Bischof at the Holly Discovery Trail parking lot at 8:30 p.m. to begin your nighttime adventure. We have a limited number of provided flashlights so please register for this program by calling the park office at 828-584-7728.
