Current status of park facilities   

The following campgrounds are open: Parkers Creek campground loops 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the group camping area; Poplar Point campground loops B, C, E, F and G; New Hope primitive areas A and B and Vista Point group camping area.  Boat ramps inside camping facilities are open for campers only. Camping is restricted and the following rules are enforced: no day visitors permitted; two vehicles per site: all beach areas are closed; gates open at 8 a.m. and lock at 10 p.m.; there will be no 24-hour gate access and gate hours are strictly enforced. Shower houses are available, but comfort stations are closed.

New Hope Overlook boat ramp, New Hope Overlook hiking trail, Vista Point boat ramp, Vista Point hiking trail, and Seaforth boat ramp are open.  An entrance fee of $7 per vehicle ($5 for senior citizens and veterans/military) and $20 per bus/van will be collected for any vehicle that enters New Hope Overlook and Seaforth. During the month of September, the fee is charged on weekends only until the last weekend in September. Gates open at 8 a.m. and lock at 8 p.m. 

Robeson Creek canoe access and boat ramp are also open.

The visitor center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A properly worn mask or face covering, covering both the nose and the mouth, is required to enter the visitor center.

The following facilities remain CLOSED during PHASE 2.5:  Ebenezer boat ramp and day-use area, Seaforth day-use area, Parkers Creek day-use area, and White Oak. These closures include all hiking trails except for New Hope Overlook and Vista Point. All beach areas, picnic areas, picnic shelters, and boat ramps** at these listed accesses are closed.

PHASE 3: (Reopening tentative date October 2)
Full reopening of park facilities closed during earlier phases including Ebenezer boat ramp and day-use area; Seaforth day-use area; Parkers Creek day-use area and White Oak. All hiking trails, all picnic areas, all picnic shelters, all boat ramps, and all beach areas will be open.

Please note that Poe’s Ridge boat ramp, managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Farrington Point boat ramp, managed by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, are both currently open. Please check with those agencies for the most up-to-date information regarding those facilities.

Please note that this alert is updated only when something changes. Generally, state parks are following the phased reopening statewide. As of September 11, we are following the new guidelines under phase 2.5.

Jordan Lake Track Trail/Seaforth Pond Trail

The Pond Trail is an easy 1.25 mile trail. The path is nearly a loop, it begins at the display case on the western side of the beach parking lot and ends near the picnic shelter #9. Hikers will enjoy glimpses of the lake while walking thru Loblolly Pine forests, hardwood forests, an old field and past 3 ponds. A long boardwalk traverses a wetland teaming with Buttonbush, Black Needle Rush and other water-loving vegetation. A Track Trail has been set up on this trail for self guided family nature hikes.
