Events and Programs

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

Catch a Sure Thing (C.A.S.T.) – We provide the bait, tackle, and expertise. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment. You provide a child between the ages of 6 and 12 who wants to go fishing. This program is limited to groups of 6 children. They will learn how to bait a hook, types of fish found in the lake, and if willing, how to unhook a fish!
