Closures due to flooding at Jordan Lake   

We have trails, campsites and picnic shelters affected by the flooding throughout Jordan Lake.
For additional information contact the park office.

Robeson Creek boat ramp and Canoe access are the only boat ramps open at this time managed by NC Parks, however the courtesy docks are underwater.  The Corps. of Engineers manage the water levels at Jordan. If more information is needed on the water levels please contact the Corps. at the below website:

Poplar Point Loop C & F closures   

Effective immediately Loops C and F at Poplar Point campground will be closed indefinitely due to issues with bathroom/showerhouses.  People with reservations will be contacted by park staff with further information.

Events and Programs

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful. ​

Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.

 

Join a Park Ranger at New Hope Overlook Campground for a Spring Hike and learn about the history of Jordan Lake.  Park Visitors will meet at the trailhead enrance located in the upper parking area of the New Hope Boat Ramp.  Hike is for new beginners; however experienced hikers are welcomed! Please bring water, sunscreen and bug spray.    Address is 339 W.H. 2019 is the Year of the Snakes in North Carolina's state parks.
The tradition continues as North Carolina State Parks celebrates its annual theme, "The Year of the Snake." Jordan Lake State Recreation Area will offer a variety of Snake programs throughout the summer months.  Experience a Snake program from one of our Park Rangers, and learn about Snake Identification, How to Co-Existing with Snakes, and fun Snake Craft Activities. 

Do you know which species of snakes live in your neighborhood?  Do you know the largest and smallest snakes in N.C.?  Do you know the life span of a Snake?  Do you know how Snakes survive the winter?  If you are interested in attending a Snake program at Jordan Lake SRA, please contact the park office at 919-362-0586 or visit https://www.ncparks.gov/jordan-lake-state-recreation-area for the program calendar. 

Jordan Lake SRA does charge a $7.00 entrance fees during the summer months.
