Jordan Lake State Recreation Area – Fall campsite
Status of park facilities as of July 17, 2020   

The following campgrounds are open: Crosswinds campground loops A, B and C; Parkers Creek campground loops 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Poplar Point campground loops B, C, E, F, G, H and J and New Hope primitive areas A and B. Boat ramps inside camping facilities will be open for campers only.  Camping will be restricted and the following rules will be enforced:  No day visitors permitted; two vehicles per site; all beach areas will be closed; gates open at 8:00am and lock at 10:00pm; there will be no 24-hour gate access and gate hours are strictly enforced. Shower houses are available, but comfort stations will be closed. 

New Hope Overlook boat ramp, New Hope Overlook hiking trail and Seaforth boat ramp are open. To ease traffic and parking congestion at New Hope and Seaforth boat ramps, only vehicles hauling boats or jet skis will be permitted to access the boat ramp area. No single vehicles will be allowed, if you are planning to meet with someone who has a boat or jet ski, work out a method of carpooling before arriving. An entrance fee of $7 per vehicle ($5 for senior citizens and veterans/military) and $20 per bus/van will be collected for any vehicle that enters New Hope Overlook and Seaforth. Gates open at 8:00am and lock at 9:00pm. The fee is charged every day until Labor Day. During the month of September, the fee is charged on weekends only until the last weekend in September.

Robeson Creek canoe access and boat ramp are also open.

The following facilities will remain CLOSED during PHASE TWO (May 22 - August 6): Visitor center, Ebenezer boat ramp and day-use area, Seaforth day-use area, Parkers Creek day-use area, Vista Point and White Oak. These closures include all hiking trails with the exception of New Hope Overlook. All beach areas, picnic areas, picnic shelters, group campsites, primitive campsites and boat ramps** at these listed accesses are closed.

PHASE THREE: (Reopening tentative date August 7)
Full reopening of park facilities closed during earlier phases including: visitor center; Ebenezer boat ramp and day-use area; Seaforth day-use area; Parkers Creek day-use area; Vista Point; and White Oak. All hiking trails, all picnic areas, all picnic shelters, all boat ramps, all beach areas, group campsites will be open.

Available camping facilities
 

► Tent, trailer and RV camping

Pitch your tent or park your recreational vehicle at one of more than 1,000 family campsites.

Crosswinds Campground offers 182 campsites for both recreational vehicles and tent camping; 134 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.

Parkers Creek offers 250 sites for RV and tent camping; 120 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site contains a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located. Please note that only Loops 1 and 2 at Parkers Creek are available for advance reservation. Loops 3 and 4 are all walk-up sites and can be booked only when you arrive at the campground.

Poplar Point offers 579 sites for RV and tent camping; 363 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located. Please note that all sites at Poplar Point Loop E are walk-up and can be booked only when you arrive at the campground.

 

► Backpack camping

For those who prefer a more primitive campsite, New Hope Overlook offers 24 campsites nestled in the woods. These sites range from 100 yards to a half mile from the parking lot. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Toilets and drinking water are provided nearby.

 

► Group tent camping

Two areas offer sections for camping clubs and other groups. Parkers Creek has six campsites available for group tent camping. Vista Point also offers five group tent campsites. Drinking water and showers are located nearby.

 

► Group RV camping

Vista Point offers 50 campsites for group RV camping. All sites contain water and electric hookups. Although these sites are open year-round, water to the sites is turned off in the winter. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.
 


Important information
 

Check-in and check-out times

Check-in at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is 4:00pm and check-out is at 3:00pm.

Guests must arrive and be checked in before the campground gates close for the night.

 

Amenities

Not all campsites have identical amenitiesRead the campsite information on the reservations website to see photos of campsites; check availability and fees; find out whether a specific site is wheelchair accessible, has access to water, bathhouses or pit toilets, or has electric hookup; and learn other important information.

 

Gate access

Park gates are closed and locked at posted closing times for your protection. There will be no exiting or entering the gates after the closing time. All visitors who are not spending the night need to be out by closing time. If you leave the park and do not return before closing time, you will not be able to re-enter. Check with the park office during office hours for the after-hours emergency phone number. Please notify camp hosts for emergencies only.

 

Changes and cancellations

You can now cancel reservations online by logging into your account on the reservations website. Please note that there is a $6 fee per night to cancel a reservation. The fees will be deducted from your refund.

If you need to make changes to your reservation, please call the reservations number at 1-877-722-6762. You cannot switch dates, campsites, or parks using your account online — you will be charged the cancellation fees, even if you book a new site.

In the event of a closure for a campsite, campground or the entire park, you will be contacted automatically by the reservations system to cancel or change your reservation. You will receive a full refund for cancellations due to park closures.
