Jones Lake State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.
Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.
Ever wonder what snakes’ species are at home in eastern North Carolina? Which ones are venomous? Join a park ranger at the Visitor Center in exploring the various snakes in this area and the other unique species found throughout our great state. Participants should meet at the Jones Lake State Park Visitor Center at 10am. Call the park office @ (910) 588-4550 for more information. This event is free of charge and open to the general public.
Start the year off in the outdoors! Join a park ranger for a one mile hike on our Cedar Loop Trail! Discussion on the hike will include the history of Jones Lake State Park and the flora and fauna found in the Park. Participants should meet at the Visitor Center at 10:00 am for this program.
