Camps

About the camps

Come to Haw River State Park for summer fun and adventure! The Summit Environmental Education Staff at Haw River lead participants in many amazing park adventures. Each week has a theme on which programming will focus. The Day Camps are for children who will be rising 2nd to 5th graders. We offer Haw River Adventure Camp for 6th-8th graders. Our Grand Camps are for grandparents who would like to come to summer camp with a grandchild or two, or for children who would like to bring their grandparents to camp. These are our only residential camps.

COVID-19 protocols

The Haw River State Park Environmental Education Department has created summer camp experiences for campers and their families, which meet and exceed the recommendations from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' COVID-19 Guidance for Day Camp Settings protocols.

Our summer camp program and operations will be highly modified to ensure the health and safety of our campers, camper families, staff, and community. Modified procedures and protocols will be trained and implemented during summer day camp until further updated guidance is issued from N.C. DHHS.
