Night Hike and Astronomy

Night Hike and Astronomy

A two-in-one Hike NC (Blue Cross/Blue Shield initiative) program.  Join a ranger for a sunset hike down to the wetlands to the headwaters of the Haw River.  At the end of the boardwalk, we'll take time to as the night animals begin to stir.  From here, we'll hike along the Piedmont Loop Trail to one of our back fields where, weather permitting, telescopes will be set up for night viewing.  If folks want to just take part in the astronomy program, we'll have parking located nearby so you won't have to hike far.  Please call the park office for further information on parking and also to check and make sure the program is still scheduled as we can't control the weather.  Office number is 336-342-6163.
