Geology Hike on Juneteenth

Enjoy a hike with a park ranger as we explore the unique geology of the Iron Ore Belt Access. Meet at the parking lot / trailhead for a quick presentation about our park's geologic history, then enjoy a 1.6-mile hike which includes a preview of our new Iron Ore Pit Trail. Please bring water & sturdy hiking shoes.

Juneteenth celebrates June 19th, 1865 when the official announcement of emancipation reached the furthest state in our union. Today it marks a day where we can celebrate the American ideals of freedom and opportunity in an inspiring place we all share, the great outdoors.  Learn more about Juneteenth here:
