Astronomy Night

Join local astronomers with the Greensboro Astronomy Club as we observe the night skies over the Iron Ore Belt Access. Telescopes and viewing equipment will be set up on site but you may wish to bring your own binoculars or telescope, plus a chair or blanket for seating. Attendees may expect to see closer-than-typical views of the moon, planets, star clusters, and other celestial objects subject to change with time of year and local sky darkness.

Please dress for the weather and bring a flashlight (red light preferred to preserve night vision of attendees). There may be a short hike along a marked park trail (up to 0.40 miles) to the viewing site. Contact Ranger Purvis at lindsey.purvis@ncparks.gov if you have questions about this event.

***Skywatching sessions may be cancelled for cloudy or poor weather conditions, so please SIGN UP in advance on Eventbrite so you can be notified in the event of cancellation. https://www.eventbrite.com/.../astronomy-night-tickets...***
