Eastern Bluebird Nest Box Maintenance & Monitoring

Prior to the 1930's, the Eastern Bluebird was one of North Carolina's most common songbirds.  By 1979, bluebirds were declared rare and uncommon by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Man's activities and severe winter's have resulted in a 90% decline in bluebird populations (reference, NC Bluebird Society, Inc.)  Visit with a ranger and find out what Haw River State Park staff are doing to help save these beloved birds.

Date of Event:
Saturday, July 14, 2018 - 10:00am to 11:30am
Start Location:
The Summit Environmental Education & Conference Center at Haw River State Park (Main Lodge)
