Chestnut Oak Nature Trail

A chestnut oak tree at Hanging Rock State Park. Photo by D. Cook.

The trail begins at the trailhead behind the lake bathhouse, located at 2847 Hanging Rock Park Road. The trail's surface is gravel, dirt, and rock. It is not a unique singular trail; it is a route that utilizes several other existing trails. This trail has numbered posts that correspond to a brochure available at the visitor center. Each post marks a native tree or plant found in the forest.
