The Window Falls / Indian Creek Trail beginning from the picnic area at the Visitor's Center will be closed from 4/22 - 4/24 due to trail maintenance and rehabilitation. Visitors will be able to hike the trail beginning from the Dan River Access if they desire, but will not be permitted to do so from the picnic area. The seasonal wildlife closure of Moore's Wall's North End is now in effect, due to peregrine falcon monitoring and potential activity. The closure will run through 08/31/2019, but may open earlier depending on peregrine activity. Climbing,bouldering, and hiking by park visitors beyond the North End trail point along the Moore's Wall access will be prohibited during the closure.
NOTE: This closure does not affect the Moore's Wall Loop Trail itself or access to the observation tower by hikers within the park.Last updated on: Wednesday, April 10, 2019
Rowboat and canoe rentals will be available at the park lake beginning on April 20. The concession will be open on weekends only during the spring at the Refreshment Stand from 10am - 4:30pm. Unreserved picnic shelters are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the shelters are very popular, so reservations are strongly suggested.
Picnic Shelter #1, located above the lake parking area, has two fireplaces and grills. It accommodates up to 96 people. Drinking water and restrooms are nearby. This shelter is not handicap accessible.
Picnic Shelter #2, located at the lower picnic area off Window Falls Trail accessed from Visitor Center Drive, has one fireplace and grill. It accommodates up to 24 people. Drinking water and restrooms are nearby. This shelter is not handicap accessible.
Picnic Shelter #3, located at the lower picnic area off Window Falls Trail accessed from Visitor Center Drive, has one fireplace and grill. It accommodates up to 64 people. Drinking water and restrooms are nearby. This shelter is not handicap accessible.
Picnic Shelter #4, located right beside the lake parking area, has one grill and a water spigot. It accomodates up to 80 people. Restrooms are nearby. This shelter is ADA accessible and features accessible tables.
The auditorium accommodates 35 people and has video projection equipment. Water fountains and restrooms are nearby. No Wi-Fi. Reservations are required. $103/half day, $178/full day. Please call the park for more information.
The classroom accommodates 12 people and has a sink and adjoining deck overlooking Moore’s Knob. Water fountains and restrooms are nearby. No wifi. Portable screen and projector are available. Reservations are required. $85/half day, $160/full day. Please call the park for more information.
