Hike for the HEALTH of It!

June 3 is National Trails Day, so let’s “Hike for the Health of It!”  Take the Mountain-High Challenge and join an Environmental Educator on a 5.8-mile hike (11.6 miles round-trip) from the lowest to the highest points at Hanging Rock State Park and back again!  Meet at the Dan River Access on Flinchum Road (elevation 750) at 9:00 am to begin our moderately-paced hike to the Moore’s Wall Observation Tower (elevation 2580).   Bring water and lunch, for we will dine with the backdrop of stunning views.  We will stop at the Visitor Center on the way up and back to refill water and stop at the restrooms.  Due to length and steepness, this hike is recommended for ages 10 and older.  This hike is rated strenuous.  Estimated time:  7 hours which includes lunch break.
