Status of park facilities as of June 11   

Trails, mainland restrooms, and the Bear Island bathhouse with potable water are open daily. The boat ramp for cash payments and Annual Pass holders is open. Bear Island is open for private boat access for day-use, and Bear Island campsites are open as of May 22, 2020 for campers with transportation to Bear Island.

NO FERRY service to Bear Island, no credit card payments for boat ramp use, and visitor center closed.

Future development

Plans for mainland area at Hammocks Beach State Park

The planning process for the development of the mainland area of Hammocks Beach State Park took place from August 2016 to spring 2017. We are excited to present the ideas and concepts that will shape the mainland area of Hammocks Beach State Park. We anticipate these new plans will allow for improved visitor experience and opportunities.
