Campfire Stories

Campfire Stories

Join Ranger Sicard around the campfire to hear "the legend of the Brown Mtn Lights".  Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to sit around the campfire in as Ranger Sicard reads "Belinda and the Brown Mountain Lights" an excerpt out of the book Mountain Ghost Stories and curious tales of Western North Carolina by Randy Russell and Janet Barnett. Along with the story we will discuss some of the thoughts behind these lights and why they occur both factitious and scientifically based. This program will be approximately an hour long and outside so please dress for the local weather conditions and bring a chair to sit in. A campfire will be going to warm up around.

Appropriate for ages 8 and older; children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please no pets.
