Events and Programs
Fort Macon State Park offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages. Typically led by park rangers, these interpretive programs allow the public to gain perspective into what makes North Carolina state parks naturally wonderful.
Most of the events are free, though some require pre-registration. All give park visitors deeper insight into the natural world. Call the park office for more information.
Come down to Fort Macon and learn how different Civil War era cannons function. Cannon firing demonstrations will be at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, & 3:30.

Meet in the fort entrance for a guided tour of Fort Macon. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and are held Daily at 11:00, 12:00, 2:00, and 3:00.
Meet in the Fort at 10:30 or 2:30 to learn about a 19th century musket's history, loading procedures, and firing.
