Potential Park Closure Due To Overcrowding   

Staff anticipate closure due to overcrowding on weekends throughout the month of October.  Staff recommend visitors arrive in the early morning or evening hours.  The webpage will be updated immediately once we close and/or reopen.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Potential Office Closure   

The park office may be closed during your visit due to understaffing.  The passport stamp is located near the deck steps outside of the park office.  Additional restrooms are located in the picnic area.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Beech Tree Trail

The Beech Tree Trail-our Kid's Track Trail-is an easy 1-mile loop around the picnic area. The majority of the trail penetrates a large American Beech forest at 4,500 ft. The Kid’s Track Trail is part of the Kids in Parks initiative. This program rewards kids with small prizes for their hiking achievements.

Begins and ends at the Trailhead PVA.

Hikers will explore a forest dominated by the American beech.
