Final Master Plan: Open for Public Comment

The North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation is pleased to share the final Elk Knob State Park master plan for public review. The Division, in conjunction with their consultant, E2 Landscape Architecture, has completed the planning process for this master plan. The master plan is linked below for public input.

The planning process consisted of several site visits to the park, interviewing of stakeholders, two public input meetings held in Boone, and tireless data collection. All this to make sure that the plan found the correct balance for future development of the park and protection of the natural resources that make Elk Knob State Park special and unique.

Please review the master plan and let the Division know of any comments that you may have. You can email Dave Head, Planning Program Manager, with any comments at dave.head@ncparks.gov.

This plan will be open for public comment until July 10.

Thank you for your time and input on this important study.
