Crowders Mountain State Park is planning a prescribed burn of approximately 250 acres on Friday, March 22, 2019 weather permitting. The Sparrow Springs Acess ( Sparrow Springs Road to Pinnacle Road, VIsitor Center, lake, picnic shelters, Pinnacle Trail, Lake Trail, Turnback Trail, Ridgeline Trail to Pinnacle Road, Fern Tail, campground trail, campground and Crowders Trail to Sparrow Springs Road.) will be closed until deemed safe by park staff. The rest of the park will be open for normal operating hours, as will Kings Mountain State Park ( 803-222-3209) and Kings Mountain National Military Park ( 864-936-7921). Linwood Road Access, Boulders Access, Sparrow Springs Access (Picnic Areas and Shorts Lake), and all trails close at the closing time posted at all entrance gates.

December-February: 7am - 6pm
March-April, October: 7am - 8pm
May-September: 7am - 9pm
8am - 5pm daily
Campers may access the Campground Trail Parking located at the Sparrow Springs Access Area:
November: 7am - 8pm
December-February: 7am - 7pm
March-April, October: 7am - 9pm
May-September: 7am - 10pm
Please plan accordingly, there is a one-mile hike to the campground.
