Volunteer Trail Day

We are seeking volunteers to help us maintain our hiking trails at Crowders Mountain State Park. Meet new people and work with experienced volunteers and park staff dedicated to maintaining the beautiful hiking trails at Crowders Mountain State Park. No experience is required. This is a great learning opportunity. We will train you on the job. The trail work includes task such as: erosion control, rehabbing old trails, building new trails, and rerouting sections of eroded trail. All work tools, safety glasses, and hearing protection will be provided. Water and refreshments will also be provided. We ask that you bring work gloves, appropriate footwear for the outdoors, sunscreen, insect repellant, comfortable work clothes, and any medications that you may need.

We meet at 8:00am on the following Saturday at Sparrow Springs Visitor Center or Boulder Access depending on the location of the trail maintenance. Refreshments, fellowship, a short safety meeting and an introduction of the crew leaders will be given, then we will work on the trails until 11:30am. If you are interested in volunteering for our trail work days or need additional information, please call the park office at (704) 853-5375.
