Camping is allowed in designated areas by permit only. Permits may be obtained at the entrance station or from the businesses listed on the "Permits & Access" page.

Fires are permitted only in designated areas and must be tended at all times. Fires are not permitted on Grandfather Trail or Hi-Balsam Shelter. Only downed wood can be collected for fires.

Overnight vehicles are not allowed in the attraction area. Vehicles left in the park after posted park hours must be registered.

Visitors must be 18 years or older to register as campers.
