Facilities: The South Mountains State Park Equestrian Campground includes fifteen campsites and a 33-stall horse barn. Nine stalls are 5'x10' and 24 stalls are 10'10. Drinking water is provided at several locations throughout the campground, and there is a washhouse with toilets and hot showers. Each campsite will accommodate one family or six individuals, and one horse trailer/truck combo. There are no individual hookups for water/electric in sites. Tents must fit on the graveled tent pad. Build fires only in the steel grills/fire rings provided. Extra horse trailers and vehicles must be parked in the day-use parking area adjacent to the equestrian campground. Please notify park staff if you are leaving vehicles and trailers in theis area. Camping in the day-use parking area is prohibited. Generators in the campground are prohibited during quiet times. Pets must be on a 6' leash at all times.

Reservations: Due to the limited number of campsites, advance reservations are strongly recommended. Reservations must be made and payment must be received at least 10 days prior to camping. NO reservations will be taken by phone. All reservations must be made by completing the reservation application, which can be obtained from a park staff member. A confirmation receipt will be mailed to you upon receipt of full payment for stall(s) and campsite(s). Sites not reserved may be rented on a first-come, first-serve basis. Person reserving facility is responsible for the behavior of all members in their party.
Refunds: Cancellations are accepted no later than 7 days prior to reservation date. No refunds will be made for stalls reserved but not used during visit.
Equestrian Campground Gate: There is a gate located at the entrance to the equestrian campground in order to limit access to this area to overnight equestrians only. Please close gate when entering or exiting the area.
Upon Arrival: Locate your assigned stall and secure horses; locate your assigned campsite. (Assigned stall and campsite numbers are designated on your receipt). Horses are not permitted in campsite areas. Negative COGGINS results must be presented for each horse. Without valid COGGINS results, stay will be terminated without refund.
Stalls: Bedding will be in place upon arrival. Extra bedding may be purchased from park staff. Clean-up and removal of soiled bedding is required for all stalls rented by your party before departure. Hangers for water buckets and feeding apparatus are provided. You must furnish water buckets and feeding apparatus.
