A prescribed burn along the park road above the family campground at the mountain section will be conducted today between 12 noon and 4pm. The purpose of the burn will be to reduce wildland fuels in the event of an uphill escaped campfire from the family campground and for wildlife habitat improvement. Vehicle and pedestrian access may be restricted to the park rd. above the campground during the burn for safety purposes, and the Grindstone Trail adjacent to the campground will be temporarily closed until the burn is over and mop up is complete. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALL HIKING TRAILS ARE OPENED FOR HIKING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MOUNTAIN TRAIL. THE CLOSURE ON THE MOUNTAIN TRAIL HAS NO EFFECT ON ANY OF THE OTHER HIKING TRAILS. The Mountain Trail is being converted from a 2.5 mile one way trail to a 4.5 mile loop. The trail is currently closed for construction.Construction is expected to be completed by October. Now accepting applications for Park Attendant position.
