*Marina Contract* The State of North Carolina has initiated the bidding process for the marina operation at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. The current 30-year contract expires in 2012. This action ensures the public has continued access to recreational services. The creation of a new lease is necessary to establish the fair market value. The State has every intention of securing a timely contract with the company that wins the bidding process. A competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process will ensure that fair market value is received for this asset and the best possible services are offered to the marina patrons. It is expected that the RFP will be released early this summer.
