... details ± All Parks along I-95 and east will close at noon on Friday, 9/5. Fort Macon, Lake Waccamaw, Jordan Lake, Jones Lake and Raven Rock will reopen at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 9/6. Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher are scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday, 9/7.

Lodging:
Motel Style Cottages: The majority of these rooms feature one double and one single bed. Single occupancy
rooms may be available for an additional charge. Handicapped-accessible rooms are available.
All rooms have a private bath.

Cabins: An 80-bed dormitory-style cabin facility for youth groups, retreats, camps and
environmental education. There are 10 cabins with four bunk beds (four upper and four lower) in each, plus
one rollaway bed available for each cabin.

Dining:
Central Dining Hall: Fully-equipped dining hall with buffet service. Dining hall can be divided
into two separate spaces.

Grove Auditorium: Large meeting space with break-out areas for small group activities.
Break-out areas feature gas logs and comfortable furniture. Grove Auditorium divides into two

The Heron's Roost: Upper level of the Tarheel Building. This meeting space has a wood-burning
fireplace and may be used as one large meeting space or divided into three small meeting spaces. The
'Roost' also has its own lounge with a refrigerator and small sink.

The Fox's Den: Lower level of the Tarheel Building. This meeting space has carpeting, giving
youths the opportunity to relax on the floor. This cozy area also has a wood-burning fireplace.

Recreation:
Gymnasium: Gymnasium provides indoor space for basketball, volleyball and other games. Can also be
used as a large group meeting space. Equipped with bathrooms and showers.
Athletic Field: Field with areas for horseshoes, basketball, baseball and
volleyball. Also features a tennis court, fire pit and some picnic tables.
Outdoor Pool: Pool depth ranges from two to five feet. The pool is open from Memorial Day through
Labor Day. Children should be supervised when using the pool.NO LIFEGUARD IS PROVIDED.
Disc Golf Course: This nine-hole Disc Golf Course challenges beginners and champions. Maps are
available at the main lodge.
Challenge Course: This challenge course offers a variety of teambuilding activities
guided by Haw River Program (HARP) instructors.
Nature:
Lake: Six acre spring-fed lake. Fishing permitted with valid NC Fishing License.
Canoes are available for registered guests Memorial Day through Labor Day. Also available
is a picnic pavilion with tables and restroom facilities.
Hiking Trails: Several trails wander throughout the campus. The highlights of the system are
trails around the lake and to the Boardwalk.
Boardwalk: The Boardwalk takes you through the Haw River wetlands, giving you a close encounter
with a unique North Carolina ecosystem.
Dogwood Amphitheater: This amphitheater offers a beautiful view overlooking the lake and it
works well for small group activities or memorable performances.
Tulip Amphitheater: This amphitheater overlooks the lake and is located slightly apart from the
overnight and meeting facilities.
