Come to Haw River State Park for summer fun and adventure! The Summit Environmental Education Staff at Haw River will be leading participants in many amazing park adventures. Each week will have a theme in which programming will focus. The Day Camps will be for children who will be rising 2nd - 6th graders. We will be offering an Adventure Camp for rising 7th - 8th graders. Our Grand Camps will be for grandparents who would like to come to summer camp with a grandchild or two, or for children who would like to bring their grandparents to camp. These are our only residential camps.

a space for each participant.

Participants will be asked to bring a bag lunch/water bottle each day. Water will be available to the students at lunch and for the breaks. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Please be sure to inform us concerning any dietary needs, such as food allergies upon registration.
Week I June 11th - 15th Geology: A Rockin Good TimeRising 2nd - 6th graders $110/wk
Come walk through time with us and learn about the geology and fossil history of the
Piedmont. Investigate the EarthÕs past through hands-on experiences. Campers will also
canoe and fish at the end of the week. Other daily activities will include swimming, art
focus and reflection time (rest break).
Rising 2nd - 6th graders $110/wk
Cold blooded yes, but cool to touch. DO you like to be up close and personal with reptiles?
Are you the type of person who thinks frogs and toads are cool? Or do you want to learn
more about the cold blooded creatures so that you can appreciate them more? Campers will
also canoe and fish at the end of the week. Other daily activities will include swimming,
art focus and reflection time (rest break).
Rising 7th - 8th graders $70/wk
Interested in exploring your local NC State Park? Haw River Adventure Camp is an
opportunity for rising 7th and 8th graders to spend the week experiencing all that Haw
River has to offer. Adventure Campers will participate in canoeing, hiking excursions to
remote areas of the Park, natural resource management projects and other challenging
activities. Other daily activities will include swimming, art focus and break time.
$145/participant
This two-night, three day camp will be for rising 2nd - 6th graders and their special
grandparent(s). Some of the special activities include fun games for all ages, family
projects, easy to moderate hiking, fishing, canoeing and nightly campfire fun! Daily
activities will include pool time, art focus and restful free-time. All moderately
strenuous activities will have an alternative program option. There will be a variety of
overnight accommodation options (motel style/cabin).
$75/participant
This one-night, two day camp will be for rising 7th - 8th graders and their special
grandparent(s). Some of the special activities include fun games for all ages, family
projects, easy to moderate hiking, fishing, canoeing, and nightly campfire fun! Daily
activities will include pool time, art focus and restful free-time. All moderately
strenuous activities will have an alternative program option. There will be a variety of
overnight accommodation options (motel style/cabin).
