Facility: Primitive campsites. Includes tables and fire pits.
Location: Mixed forest between Goose and Flatty Creeks, .6 miles from main
park road.
Accommodates: 12 sites with a maximum of 8 people per site.
Nearby Amenities: Toilet facilities and water.
Available: Year-round.
Reservations Required: No. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Accessible: One site is handicapped accessible.
Facility: Primitive group campsite.
Location: 1.5 miles from the EE / VC.
Accommodates: Up to 30 people.
Nearby Amenities: Flush toilets and water.
Available: From mid-March through late November.

Picnic Shelters

Facility: One picnic shelter with grills.
Location: Off the second paved parking lot at the end of the main park road.
Accommodates: Five tables, up to eight people each.
Nearby Amenities: Drinking fountain and restroom.
Available: Year-round (restroom is closed from late November until mid-March.

Accessible: Yes.
Facility: One picnic shelter with grills.
Location: In the field across from the Environmental Education / Visitor Center.
Accommodates: Eight tables, up to eight people each.
Nearby Amenities: Restrooms, water fountain, drink machine.
Available: Year-round.

Accessible: Yes.
(Available by reservation. Available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis, if not
reserved.)
Forms of Payment: Cash, checks, travelers checks. At this time, only Carolina Beach, Mount Mitchell
and Morrow Mountain State Parks accept Visa or Mastercard.
A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
