There will be no lifeguards on duty at the Fort Macon swim beach on Wednesday the 27th or Thursday the 28th due to many of our summer seasonal staff returning to school. Lifeguards will be back on duty for Labor Day weekend through Monday Sept. 1st.

Fort Macon has over 1.5 miles of ocean beach for hiking.
Educational and interpretive programs are conducted at the park.
Fish are abundant in the inlet and the ocean.
Park flora includes lichen, live oak, yaupon, cedar and black locust trees.
Volunteers are critical to the park's success.
The Coastal Education Center includes exhibits, auditorium, and classroom.
