Renovation work is still underway on the Fort Macon Bathhouse. The downstairs public restrooms are now open, but the upstairs concession stand and changing rooms are still closed due to the construction. Access to the picnic shelters and beach are still available, but some areas of the board walk near the bathhouse are closed to the public as a construction zone. If no unforeseen problems arise, we hope to have the rest of the project complete by mid summer. In the meantime there is a Pepsi trailer set up near the pay phone that is selling basic drinks and snacks until the new concession stand can be reopened.
