Crowders Mountain State Park »  Sights and Sounds »  Backside Trail
On July 21, 2008, draining of the park lake at Crowders Mountain State Park began in preparation of repairs to the dam. This project is expected to take several months; the lake area, including the canoe concession and lake hiking trail, will be closed during this time.
If funding and required permitting agencies allow it, shallow portions of the lake may also be dredged to improve canoeing and fishing opportunities in the lake. If dredging takes place, the lake will remain drained for a significantly longer period of time.
Call the park office at 704-853-5375 with any questions.
